About BMCE Bank البنك المغربي للتجارة الخارجية at Route de Tétouan in Tangier

Bank of Africa's BMCE branch on Route de Tétouan sits along one of Tangier's main arteries linking the city toward its sister port to the east. This is working, residential Tangier — far from the medina's tourist circuit and the glitz of the Corniche — where the rhythm of daily life plays out in the Hawmat Chouk neighborhood. The cluster of cafés around the branch (Bayrout, Singapour, Andaluza, A Doha) speaks to the enduring Moroccan ritual of long mornings over mint tea and café noir, while the density of pharmacies signals a settled, family-oriented quarter. BMCE, one of Morocco's oldest banks with roots in foreign trade dating to 1959, has long served Tangier's merchant class — fitting, given the city's centuries-old role as Morocco's gateway to Europe. The Route de Tétouan branch handles the everyday banking needs of locals: salary deposits, remittances from family abroad, and the small business accounts that keep the surrounding cafés and shops running.
